The 1990s Chicago Bulls are known for their unparalleled success with not one, but two “three-peat” championship runs. Before that, though, they were simply a good team with a prolific scorer, Michael Jordan. The turning point came with the adoption of the ‘Triangle Offense’ under Phil Jackson, shifting the focus from individual production to coordinated execution, and capturing his belief that “the strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.”

Championship teams are rarely built by simply adding talent or spending more money. The best teams focus on something more important: finding the right people for the right roles and ensuring togetherness in working toward the same goal.

This same principle applies to financial planning.

O’Connor Tax Partners is our dedicated sister tax firm, and I (Jordan) am personally excited to be joining the team as a CPA and Tax Advisor.

A bit about me: I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2015 with a degree in Accounting from the Gies College of Business. Originally from Wheaton, I now live in Champaign, Illinois with my wife Christine and our four young daughters ages 7 and under.

One of the things I enjoy most about being a tax advisor is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients. Whether you find taxes interesting, prefer not to think about them at all, or fall somewhere in between, I value the chance to provide practical guidance, thoughtful advice, and a trusted resource as you navigate important financial decisions.

As a tax advisor with O’Connor Tax Partners, my office is based in Champaign but I serve clients across Illinois and beyond through virtual collaboration tools and in-person visits in both Quincy and Chicagoland as needed.

I am thankful and excited to be joining the O’Connor Financial Group team already filled with all-star level talent. Together, our goal is to provide clients with a more coordinated experience where financial planning and tax preparation and strategy are working from the same playbook.

For clients, that means greater continuity, better communication, and a team that's able to make decisions with a view of your complete financial picture.
