Jack O'Connor, CFP ®

Jack O’Connor believes thoughtful financial planning provides the clarity and confidence people need to make meaningful financial decisions. As Partner, Advisor, and Head of Financial Planning at O’Connor Financial Group, he works closely with individuals and families to organize their financial lives, build plans designed to achieve their long-term goals, and then (most importantly) helps them execute on those plans.
Jack began his career in private banking, advising clients ranging from business owners to private equity principals. That experience provided early exposure to the complexities that often accompany wealth, liquidity events, and long-term financial decision-making. While investment strategy plays an important role, he has always been particularly drawn to the planning side of the work—helping clients simplify complexity and approach their financial future with greater clarity.
To further his expertise and commitment to comprehensive advice, he earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation. After three years in private banking, he joined O’Connor Financial Group in March 2019, where he continues to work closely with clients while helping develop and refine the firm’s financial planning process.
Jack earned his B.A. in Business Economics from Wheaton College. He lives in Quincy, Illinois with his wife Megan and their two children, Charlotte and Henry. They also have a goldendoodle named Mowgli, who receives considerably less attention than he used to now that he has 2 siblings. Outside of work, he is a past (and hopefully future) marathon runner, and looks forward to the eventual Super Bowl that Ben Johnson will deliver to the Chicago Bears.
